Our
GREEN BUILDING DESIGN DIVISION is responsible for
the mechanical and electrical design of energy and
resource efficient buildings. Our designers are expert
at designing and integrating innovative heating,
cooling, ventilation, wastewater treatment, and lighting
technologies. Our projects are showcases of effective
green design practices.
Our Kitchener office is currently
hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to manage the GREEN BUILDING DESIGN
DIVISION to
- direct the design activities of a skilled
mechanical/electrical design group specializing in
buildings with innovative sustainability features
- manage all aspects of design projects, including
planning/scheduling, budgeting, work plans, resource
allocation, and forecasting
- prepare control system and schematic plans
- perform building design calculations (heating,
cooling, ventilation, water and drainage loads,
energy and water use)
- produce comprehensive
documentation/specification writing
This position requires
all of the following:
- a minimum of 10 years' experience in designing
building mechanical systems
- project and people management skills:
delegation, scheduling, performance management
- a minimum 5 years in Consulting Engineering
- P.Eng. and university degree in Mechanical
Engineering
- well developed skills in technical report
writing, technical design development and
coordination
- a thorough working knowledge of regulatory
requirements: Building Codes, Gas Code, NFPA
standards, Ministry of Environment (water and air),
CSA standards
- demonstrated interest and experience in
sustainable building design and emerging
technologies: energy conservation, renewable energy,
water and wastewater treatment, indoor environmental
quality
- Microsoft Office and AutoCAD proficiency
- LEED AP and ASHRAE membership are assets

For 25 years, our
GREEN BUILDING DIVISION has created energy and resource
efficient buildings. We are currently working on building
projects worth nearly
$4-billion, including 26 LEED certified
projects and more than 165 projects pursuing LEED certification.
Our Calgary and Kitchener offices are currently
hiring GREEN BUILDING SPECIALISTS to
- develop innovative solutions to reduce the burden
of the built environment on the natural environment
- minimize life-cycle costs for building owners and
operators
- source and specify green building products, design
green building features, and document green building
performance
- work with clients, architects, contractors to facilitate,
verify, and certify buildings in accordance with the
LEED Canada Green Building Rating System
This position requires
- a degree in engineering, or a diploma in architecture
or construction technology
- experience in building design and construction (especially
energy-efficient design) is an asset
- experience with AutoCAD is an asset

Enermodal's Building
Performance Division is internationally recognized for
its building simulation expertise.
Our Kitchener office is currently
hiring an ENERGY ANALYST to
assist in the design of energy-efficient buildings. An
energy analyst
- uses energy simulations and energy modeling to
analyze various energy efficiency options and to
make recommendations for cost-effective building
design improvements
- review design documents (e.g. plans,
specifications, shop drawings) to ensure that the
intended energy efficiency measures are being
incorporated
- update energy simulations as building design
progress
- design and execute building monitoring plans to
analyze the performance of new and existing
buildings
This position requires
- computer proficiency, especially with Excel,
Word, and AutoCAD
- a strong commitment to energy efficiency,
customer service, and a responsible work ethic
- familiarity with building systems (e.g. HVAC,
lighting) is an asset
- familiarity with heat transfer and
thermodynamics is an asset

Our COMMISSIONING DIVISION reviews the design
and verifies the installation and operation of building
mechanical/electrical systems to ensure that these systems
operate as intended. Our Calgary office is currently
hiring a COMMISSIONING PROJECT ENGINEER to
- provide full LEED commissioning services on energy
efficient and sustainable buildings
- prepare commissioning documentation and implement
building commissioning plans
- liaise with contractors, clients, consulting engineers,
architects
- perform site inspections to ensure that installed
equipment meets the design intent and client expectations
- work will include both documentation in the office
and field testing primarily in Western Canada
This position requires
- a university degree or college diploma in mechanical
engineering, building systems or related field
- 5 years of experience in mechanical design, commissioning,
HVAC operations or maintenance
- experience with DDC control systems in large, multi-faceted
facilities is an asset
- strong theoretical and practical background of commercial
buildings mechanical and electrical systems
- intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs
