Building Controls/Commissioning Agent

We are looking for a Commissioning Agent to join our new Winnipeg office. This office will assist architects and engineers, developers and governments in designing and construction green buildings. We are looking for a team to bring our successful approach to creating green buildings to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • providing full commissioning services on energy efficient and LEED buildings, including design stage reviews, advice, and functional performance testing on site
  • preparation and implementation of building commissioning plans to ensure that buildings are functioning to the best of their ability
  • working closely with contractors, clients, consulting engineers, architects, and their representatives to ensure energy efficient building design and operation

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in commissioning, operating and/or maintaining HVAC systems, and DDC Control Systems in larger buildings

We are looking for a Commissioning Agents to join our Kitchener team. The work will be varied and challenging and you will have plenty of opportunities to implement your knowledge of buildings. You will be working as part of a small team but will also be expected to take the initiative to ensure that the needs of our clients are met by
  • providing full LEED commissioning services on energy efficient and sustainable buildings, including design stage reviews and advice and functional performance testing on site

This position offers a diverse mixture of on site field testing, office based commissioning activities and meetings with clients and project teams. We need a flexible team player with the technical, practical and personal skill set to get the job done. We will consider different combinations of experience and qualifications, but our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in Mechanical Design and field review of buildings, OR
  • 3+ years experience in commissioning, operating and/or maintaining HVAC systems and DDC Control Systems in larger buildings.

Qualifications:

Enermodal's Building Energy Performance Group requires an Energy Analyst to assist in the design and analysis of energy efficient buildings.

  • prepare preliminary and detailed energy models using eQuest and EE4
  • analyze effectiveness of energy conservation measures using shopping list tools
  • work as part of a design team to provide input on energy conservation measures and make recommendations for cost effective improvements
  • perform ASHRAE 62 calculations for outdoor air requirements
  • prepare modelling reports and calculations for LEED submissions
  • review design documents ( plans, specifications, shop drawings) as they are developed to ensure that the intended energy efficiency measures are being incorporated into the design
  • update energy simulations as the design progresses
  • design and execute monitoring plans to analyze the performance of new and existing buildings

This position requires

  • degree in mechanical or electrical engineering/technology
  • computer proficiency, especially with Excel, Word and AutoCad
  • experience with EE4, eQuest, RETScreen, HOT, and HAP or any other building energy simulation tools
  • knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics and building systems (e.g. HVAC and lighting))
  • strong commitment to energy efficiency, customer service and a responsible work ethic
