Sustainable Communities

The issues of urban sprawl, car-centric transportation networks, low housing density, lack of green space, and the segregation of work, play, and home zones are some of the most pressing when it comes to the unsustainable design and construction of our modern communities. Addressing these problems requires foresight and an active commitment to efficient design from the beginning of neighborhood developments. Enermodal provides consultant services for communities looking to be more sustainable and/or achieve LEED-ND (Neighborhood Development) certification. Our team of experts can help developers and community planners find ways to decrease their environmental impact and reap the benefits of smarter growth.

LEED-ND

LEED-ND, administered by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), applies the principles of LEED to the community level through the principles of smart growth, responsible urban design, and environmental responsibility. LEED-ND provides clear methods for developers to measure and improve the sustainability of the design and construction of their neighborhoods. Check out the USGBC’s LEED-ND webpage for more details.
